5 Claude Subagents Every Marketing Team Should Set Up
Subagents are the closest thing to having a small team that never sleeps. Five worth building first.
A subagent runs in the background with its own context. You hand it a task, walk away, come back to a result. The trick is picking tasks where async actually beats synchronous — where you'd otherwise lose 30 minutes to a workflow you've done a hundred times.
Here are the five I'd build first for a marketing team.
1. Competitor watch
Give it a list of competitor URLs and a weekly schedule. It pulls their new landing pages, blog posts, and ad copy, and reports what changed. Good for catching positioning shifts you'd otherwise miss until a sales call goes sideways.
Trigger: "Run the competitor watch report." Output: A 5-bullet digest per competitor, plus a "biggest move this week" callout.
2. Ad copy reviewer
Paste your draft Meta or Google ad. The subagent checks: message-match to landing page, hook strength, claim plausibility, length compliance, banned-word risk. Returns a graded report and rewrites the weakest section.
Trigger: "Review this ad copy: [paste]" Output: Pass/fail per dimension, one rewrite suggestion.
3. SEO content briefer
You point it at a target keyword. It pulls SERP analysis, finds gaps in the top 10 results, drafts an outline with H2s that none of the competitors cover. Saves an hour per brief.
Trigger: "Brief me a post on '[keyword]'." Output: Target intent, suggested H2s, source links for proof claims.
4. Analytics translator
You feed it a raw GA4 or Search Console report. It writes the 3-sentence executive summary a non-marketer can actually read, plus the one number that matters this week and one decision to consider.
Trigger: "Translate this report for a CEO." Output: Plain-English summary, key number with context, one recommended action.
5. Customer-voice mining
Pull customer reviews, support tickets, or call transcripts. The subagent extracts the recurring phrases your buyers use to describe pain, outcomes, and competitors. Use the output as fresh ad copy hooks and headline inspiration.
Trigger: "Mine these for buyer language: [paste or attach]" Output: Top 10 phrases by frequency, mapped to which funnel stage they appear in.
The setup principle
Don't try to build all five at once. Build one, use it for two weeks, fix the bugs, then build the next. A subagent you actually use every Monday is worth more than four subagents that sit unused.
